11.07.2016 - Sivarama Krishnan - Small organic molecules in He nanodroplets - photoelectron spectroscopy
Recent and ongoing studies of EUV photoelectron spectroscopy of atoms and molecules in and on He nanodroplets have led to new insights and the observation of phenomena which involve the interaction dopants with the host environment. In the case of atoms, both Penning-transfer as well as charge-transfer driven ionization of dopants were identified as dominant processes under suitable conditions. Considering this, the natural move towards increasing the complexity of the dopants led to a beamtime at the Elettra synchrotron where we studied the most fundamental organic molecules inside He droplets by photoelectron spectroscopy at photon energies where the He matrix is primarily excited. In this talk, I will present the results from these experiments, towards initiating discussions and further understanding.
