Multiple quantum coherence signals in dilute thermal gases
Observation of dipole-dipole interactions in dilute thermal gases is challenging because of strong inhomogeneous broadening. Recent experiments reporting signatures of such interactions in fluorescence detection-based measurements of multiple quantum coherence (MQC) signals sparked a debate on the origin of these signals. In my talk, I will present a theory which allows us to explain the essential features of MQC signals in dilute thermal gases, and to resolve the debate.
